We were told that this fall is over 50' in height.
Believe it or not ... we visited our 3rd L&C Museum ... I must say that it was by far the very best. L&C found Great Falls, Montana, when they passed by this area. The Indians had told them that they would know they were going the correct direction when they found the falls. They thought it would take them 1/2 a day to go through the area ... well ... they found 5 falls and it took them a month. Those falls today have been damned for electrical plants.
Did you know that each man worked so hard everyday that they required 8 pounds of meat to keep going and that they worked themselves to exhaustion ... they would fall asleep while standing ... they figured that the 4 men pulled the 'loaded' dugout canoes each weighing 2k pounds. They had put wheels on them and at one point put a sail on them ... they even built harnesses for the 4 men to pull.
Tomorrow we take off for Waterton, Canada ... Glacier

Mom and I read the entire blog together here in Loudonville and she had such a good time. Dang! I meant to have her leave a comment before she went to bed. Well. We'll do it in the AM. It made for a nice evening. She had your itinerary beside her and was chuckling and really vicariously sharing your journey.

Simon would fit right in with you guys and bug bites. he and i were playing baseball in the yard this morning for 10 min and we had to go in because he kept saying he was scratching. i looked and he has 7 or 8 bites! i didn't even notice that there were bugs. anyway, Simon feels Carolyn's pain. he misses his aunt Beffie too!
Thomas has news too. He is in 3rd grade, but he is 'accelerated', so he goes to 4th grade for math and all of the language arts! he is very proud; so are we.

There are a number of web sites that have information on Lewis and Clark. One that I particularly like is at: http://www.lewis-clark.org/
It's more of a scholarly web site and has an awesome section, "Discovering Lewis & Clark from the Air", that links points on the map along their trail with aerial photographs and commentary about what happened at that location.

well it seems to have worked, i have never used a computer to type before, we have only just got gas and electric in burnley. I have noticed from the photos that mickey mouse is not on your trip, will he be appearing at sometime? Seriously you look to be having a great time and i wish we were with you.
