We left the city behind and that's really ok ... as nice as St Louis is ... by Sunday I began to notice all the city noise ... man-oh-man ... I really need country!
So today we took off for St. Joseph, however; we did it by getting off the Interstate and visiting Daniel Boone's home ... the one where he lived after leaving Kentucky. The ground floor had a dining room, the 1st floor had two living rooms and his bedroom, the 3rd floor had two bedrooms and the 4th floor was a ballroom where they hosted Balls. Boone was the "Squire" of the area. This meant that he was a judge, oversaw the military and had overall power for the area. It is a beautiful area ... just as one would expect for such a famous woodsman.
I posted the front & back of his home ... when he first moved west he of course lived in a cabin until this home was done. I should have taken a picture of the view from the back of the house ... I'm still learning ... the view was really beautiful.
In the home they have a family tree posted ... man ... they had BIG families. There is a link to Abraham Lincoln's family. It was really impressive ... beat you can find it via google if you're interested.
