Let me tell you ... that was a sheer drop off. The park system put in a cable in this section of trail, for anyone who wasn't feeling particularly comfortable. The path was about 4' to 5' feet wide but it sure felt a lot smaller. The following are pictures of Fred and Carolyn who were really glad to have that cable.
The trail did get better. We went about 6 miles round trip.
Fred got a wee bit nervous with me standing so close to the edge. I promised him I wasn't going to jump!
Carolyn & Fred again, while this trail was pretty level, elevation change was no more than 250', the drop off at the edge of the path was significant. It made for fantastic vistas.
This is the base of the above tree. It was beautiful!
Can you figure out which way the plants grow? Notice they're going left and right ... it confused us.
That is not the path you see below ... look carefully ... you'll find CARS.
This guy was above us on 'his' ledge. He was really close to us or should I say we were really close to him. 
Yes, in the beginning he was resting, then he decided to move. That was OK until the rocks began to fall ... I shouted, MOVE, MOVE, MOVE ... we made it but oh my goodness ... I was about ready to go over Carolyn's back. 
Yes, they were even in the parking lot. The ranger quickly moved this guy to better territory.
And ... not to offend anyone ... but he was a 'guy'.
Oh it felt so good to be able to scratch between my horns!
No, really!
These two were about 5' away from us ... right on the trail. The baby was just so darn cute!

Fantastic pictures along the hike. Did you feel like yodeling? We have to get to Glacier NP someday.
