Old Faithful - 9/11/07

Sunrise on our way to Old Faithful. They speak for themselves.
Here she blows ...

We had a bus tour today … not anything one would want to do if you've already been on as many ‘official’ walks or talks as we have.

Anyway, this is one of those tours we had to get up at 5AM and travel 1 hour to the “Old Faithful Inn”. We had breakfast there and about froze to death. I think the only heat in the restaurant was from the fireplace. It was about 23 degrees outside and believe me, I wouldn’t want to stay at that lodge during the winter. The drafts must be as bad as any old castles in England.

Cath & Keith, I stood at the big doors of the lodge and thought about you guys going out there in the middle of the night … no thank you. My goodness, talk about taking you life in your hands. That’s just crazy. I’m just glad ya’ll made it!

We watched the 8AM Geyser erupt but didn’t see much, do to all the steam being produced because it was so cold. We then watched the 1PM eruption and as you can see by the pictures, got a great view of the water

So now you can tackle any sea gull that's dumb enough to come your way. Hope you're staying warm enough. Also hope you send some of the coolness our way!!!!

It's TN wk and we'll do some extra cheering for you all.

Hi Beth, Fred and the gang?

You are in one of Jen and I's favorite places on the planet. I remember a night with Cath and KD sitting quietly in our van near some geyser listening to Yellowstone. It is great memory.
